Average floral cost?

Can anyone tell me an average cost for floral costs for a wedding. Specifically I'd like information on bridal bouquets. I'm not looking for anything too elaborate or big. A simple rose bouquet. Any other information on floral costs would be appreciated.

Average floral cost?
I just read in a bridal magazine that the national average for wedding flowers is about $1200. No, I don't plan to spend that for MY wedding!

Even with just roses, the cost of the bouquet can be $30 or $1000, depending on what variety and who does the flowers.

Although the styles are a little conservative, FTD's website should give you a really basic idea of what simple bouquets and centerpieces might cost. Any local florist should give you a free consultation to get an idea of what it would cost you.
Reply:Bouquets can run from $100 and up. For the total cost of flowers at my first wedding - my bouquet, four bridesmaids bouquets, probably 8-10 boutineers and 8 coursages was like $700. My second wedding we ordered 250 roses for $199, about five different colors from www.bigrose.com and they were gorgeous. Not only did we have huge bouquets, we had so many roses left over that we had them in vases all over the reception.
Reply:About 800 - for your bouquet, several bridesmaids, boutonnieres, corsages and boutonnieres for family and special guests, several centerpieces that you can use both for the ceremony, then take to the reception.
Reply:My bridal bouquet was simple and small. White calla lillies. $200.
Reply:The best thing you can do is check with the florist in your area. My rose bouquet cost me quite a bit and that was 14 years ago. It depends on how much money you can spend. I had a long centerpiece in between our candles, two other larger displays, bouquets for the girls and bootineers for all the men plus parents. I even had one for the singer. This totaled up to about $500 way back when. Check around because there is so much that can be done with silk arrangements which might save on cost.

Reply:Average cost for floral should be 10-15% of your total budget. The simpler the arrangements, the less expensive it should be. Also, it depends on seasonality of the flower. It may cost more to get roses for a winter wedding than a summer wedding.

Don't be afraid to call some local florists and ask. You don't have to commit to anything with anyone until you are ready.
Reply:I spent around 1800 - but that was for my bouquet, 3 bridesmaids bouquets, 3 corsages, 6 boutineers, and 14 large rose %26amp; hydrangea centerpieces.

Look for a discount florist/wholesale florist who only does weddings.
Reply:I am not spending a lot of money on my bouquet. Do you want real flowers or silk flowers.

If you want silk flowers you can make it yourself. Go to

Buy the color roses you want and cut them to the size you need them. Then put them all together and get some silk flowers tape and tie them together. You can get some ribbon to cover the tape and you will never see them. I made my sisters and I am making mine. My flowers for mine, and three bridesmaids, 2 mothers are only 144.00 dollars. They are pretty flowers too.

Thought I would share, just in case.

If you want real flowers some of the real bouquet are about 70 dollars for a small rose bouquet.
Reply:The bridal bouquets can run from 34.95 and up. Buy them by the package they are cheaper. Silk is cheaper then real and you always have a nice keepsake. Boutineers are around 3.50 each and up. Corsages around 5.95 and up. Most places will make you a package deal based on your needs.
